ALL SUMMER LONG

MARY ELLEN REDMOND (USA)
Lyric poem in free verse

2001

As a teacher, summer has always been a period of restoration for me. It is a time for rest, reflection and rediscovering parts of myself that were ignored or shelved during the hectic academic year. I do think the world will be a better place because of this pandemic. For many of us, it has provided a mandatory time out.  It is my wish and hope that this summer allows us time to reconnect with ourselves and others in new and meaningful ways.
